Dark Light Filter Panels

Lighting control plays a fundamental role in modern poultry farming techniques. Adequate lighting control allows farmers to reap the benefits of achieving excellent production targets. The first step in achieving brightness control within a poultry farm is to have a darkened structure.

A practical problem to deal with when darkening a farm is the need to have ventilation openings in the structure that allow fresh air to enter and stale air to be extracted. Through each ventilation opening, daylight enters the building unless the passages are obscured by a light filter that lets in air but absorbs light radiation.

In a light filter, the profile of the fins that compose it is designed to maximize the number of reflections of the light radiation between the two sides of the fins. Each reflection in fact absorbs part of the brightness thus decreasing its intensity. The profile of the fins of a light filter must be such as to cause many reflections of the light radiation without, however, excessively obstructing the flow of air. Munters' expert engineers used state-of-the-art Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software to achieve a balanced design.

Munters light filters mount easily and quickly with the use of a unique design saving time through the use of distance pieces that hold the panels securely in place.

The curved panels create lots of reflections to absorb light while creating a smooth passage for airflow.

The LFd light filter can be applied to both air inlets and extraction points to create dark conditions inside the farm even when the sun is shining outside. On such days the ambient brightness can reach up to 160,000 lux. After passing through the LFd the light is reduced to 0.12 lux, guaranteeing total darkness.
