The Abac B5900B 270 FT5.5 FFO and Abac B5900B 500 FT5.5 FFO compressors with separate dryers are belt-driven compressors for professional use. With a 270 L or 500 L tank depending on the model, this two-stage compressor complete with a separately powered dryer is a latest-generation Abac compressor capable of delivering high performance.
Available models
Selectable from the drop-down menu, the Abac B5900B 270 FT5,5 FFO and Abac B5900B 500 FT5,5 FFO compressors are available in the following versions:
- Direct-on-line starting : Direct-on-line starting is simple, requiring only a contactor and overload protection . The starting current is high, 6-10 times the motor's nominal current, and the starting torque is high.
- YD Star-Delta Starting : Star-Delta starting is used to limit the inrush current . The starter motor consists of three contactors, an overload protector, and a timer. The motor is started in star connection after reaching 90% of the rated value .

Abac B5900B: belt-driven compressor
In the Abac B5900B professional compressor with dryer, the motor is connected to the pump unit via a belt . The belt guard design improves the cooling airflow over the B5900B pump unit.
Two-stage compressor for high pressure
The Abac B5900B in the 270 and 500 L versions are two-stage compressors. Let's now briefly see how a double compression machine works. With each rotation of the shaft, the air passes from atmospheric pressure to an intermediate pressure ( stage I ), to be transferred into a second, smaller cylinder ( stage II ) before being stored in the tank. The cast iron cylinder ensures a longer life for the Abac compressor. This double compression ensures greater efficiency , at a higher operating pressure .
Oil-lubricated compressor
Abac oil-lubricated compressors use a special lubricating oil to reduce friction between moving parts and prevent wear .
Dryer powered separately at 230 V
The air treated through a compressor dryer comes out perfectly dehumidified . Abac B5900B 270 FT5,5 FFO and Abac B5900B 500 FT5,5 FFO are perfect as a compressed air source for use in pneumatic and industrial applications. Dehumidified air is a clean and environmentally friendly energy source. The dryer on these Abac compressors is pre-installed and connected , with bypass .
