Oklima DR 50 - Professional Stackable Dehumidifier
The Oklima DR 50 dehumidifier line is a high quality, robust and reliable machine designed to control humidity in indoor environments. Furthermore, the Biemmedue DR 50 dehumidifier is ideal for dehumidifying dry areas, residential areas, archives and storage centers, as well as for drying following floods and water damage.
The Oklima DR 50 dehumidifier is capable of extracting 51 L of condensation water in 24 hours in ambient conditions of 32°C with 90% relative humidity.
Oklima DR dehumidifiers provide significant energy and consequently economic savings thanks to their advanced electronic control that allows you to adjust the operation of the machine without waste based on the needs of the environment in which it is located. This is also allowed by the presence of a built-in thermo-hygrostat that automatically detects the temperature of the environment and indicates to the dehumidifier the dehumidification levels to maintain.
The Refrigerant Gas that Biemmedue Oklima DR professional dehumidifiers are equipped with are of the R454C type, that is, they contain very low GWP values which refers to the impact that the gas in question has on global warming. The use of gas with high GWP will be gradually banned in the future to reduce emissions that contribute to global warming, consequently it is useful to immediately equip oneself with dehumidifiers that use this type of gas in order to avoid having to replace them prematurely in the future.
In particular, on the Biemmedue DR 50 Professional Dehumidifier it is possible to connect an optional accessory called the 2-pipe Hot Air Delivery Kit for cavities, which allows you to send heated dry air into the cavities. The accessory is equipped with a powerful centrifugal fan that allows you to blow the already dehumidified dry air into two pipes with a diameter of 100mm up to a length of 6m each (pipes not included in the kit).
How to choose your dehumidifier
When choosing your Oklima Professional Dehumidifier, it is essential to observe the dehumidification capacity expressed in liters over 24 hours (L/24h). This value indicates how much water the Oklima Dehumidifier in question is able to extract from the humidity in the environment in which it is located. Dehumidifiers with high capacities can work in large spaces and dry in less time in small spaces . On the contrary, dehumidifiers with low dehumidification capacities can work better in smaller environments .
It is also essential to observe the required air flow, that is, how much air the machine is able to remove in an hour to properly treat the environment in which it operates.
In the case of the Oklima DR 50 dehumidifier in question, this is suitable for environments with volumes from 200 m³ to 300 m³ .

How it works
Biemmedue dehumidifiers are autonomous devices that do not require installation to function but simply work by connecting them with a plug to the electrical network. The professional dehumidifier in question consists of a closed circuit that contains ecological refrigerant liquid, a compressor, a condenser, a capillary tube, an evaporator and a fan.
Biemmedue dehumidifiers are autonomous devices, operating without the need for installation, simply by connecting them to the electrical network with a plug.
The dehumidifier consists of a closed circuit containing an ecological refrigerant fluid, having the following main elements:
- compressor (n°2): determines the circulation of the refrigerant fluid
- condenser (n°3): in this element, physically similar to the car radiator, the fluid in the gaseous state, pushed by the compressor, transforms into liquid, giving off heat; this heat warms the condenser itself
- capillary tube (n°5): in this element the fluid, having become liquid, expands by reducing its own pressure
- evaporator (n°6): in this element, which also consists of a battery similar to a car radiator, the liquid is transformed into gas, removing heat and consequently cooling the evaporator. The refrigerant fluid, once again a gas, continues its journey through the compressor and the cycle begins again.
The air to be dehumidified is pushed through the dehumidifier by a fan (n°1) first passing through the evaporator (cold) and then the condenser (hot).
The operating cycle is therefore as follows: - The air passes over the surface of the evaporator, where it cools, depositing excess humidity, which turns into water droplets that fall into the collection tray.
- Subsequently, the air passes through the condenser, where it regains a few degrees of temperature and is reintroduced into the environment drier and warmer, thus contributing, in the mix that is determined over time, to lowering the humidity level of the environment, until the desired values are reached.
When the ambient temperature is below certain values (15°/18°C), the temperature of the evaporator surfaces drops in turn, causing ice to form which limits the passage of air, compromising the proper functioning of the system.
To overcome this possible inconvenience, the automatic defrosting function is provided, which consists in the possibility of heating the evaporator when the probe detects temperatures that are too low.
In this case, through a by-pass valve (n°4), the compressor directly introduces the gas into the evaporator, without passing through the condenser, causing an increase in temperature.
The by-pass circuit closes automatically when the probe detects a higher temperature and the dehumidification cycle resumes normally.
It is important to note that this defrosting system guarantees the return to perfect efficiency of the dehumidifier after a few seconds; furthermore, it is the only defrosting system that allows full efficiency of the dehumidifier even with very low temperatures of the air to be dehumidified (lower than 8/10 °C).
