MMA Support Devices

The Helvi Fox 191 is not limited to MIG/MAG welding; it can also be used for MMA welding with rutile and basic electrodes from Ø 1.6 to 4.0 mm on a variety of materials, including iron, stainless steel and cast iron.

The Helvi FOX 191 welding machine is equipped with three devices that support the operator during the most complicated phases of MMA welding:

• Arc Force : increase in arc voltage to avoid switching off when the operator moves the electrode away from the base material or with particular electrodes
• Hot Start : momentary voltage peak during the ignition of the welding arc to simplify the ignition phase
• Anti-Stick : automatic protection system that prevents the electrode from sticking by suspending the welding current supply

Types of welding possible with Helvi FOX 191

• MIG : in MIG welding the electrode is made of a metal wire which is also used as a filler material and the unwinding of the spool occurs semi-automatically.
• MMA : also called coated electrode welding, it is certainly the most widespread welding method in non-professional environments or in processes that do not require particular qualitative and productive performance. This type of welding machines are simpler to use even if they give less precise results from an aesthetic point of view compared to other types of welding.
• TIG : Wire welding is very productive because, thanks to the length of the wire, it does not require constant interruptions for replacement and therefore allows for more continuous work. MIG, MAG wire welders are types of electric arc welding in a gaseous atmosphere while TIG welding uses rods as filler material (held in the hand by the operator) and uses argon or helium.
