Types of welding possible with Helvi SpotCar EVO 4000

SPOT WELDERS : Spot welders, electric resistance spot welders or also called pressure spot welders, generate heat at the contact points between two metal parts by electrical resistance. The heat developed by the current is proportional to the electrical resistance of the conductors. Spot welding is generally used to weld steels and is carried out in three phases:

  1. The electrodes are brought close to the surface of the parts to be welded and the pressure necessary to compress the parts together is applied. A pre-set current is passed through the electrodes.
  2. Welding control is achieved by adjusting the current intensity and the time during which the current passes through the contact point.
  3. The electrodes are moved away from the surfaces of the piece, which are thus joined by a small molten and solidified volume. At the point of contact between two metal objects the resistance is greater than that of the metal, therefore the passage of current causes the area near the contact and if the current is high enough, the two objects fuse and therefore weld.
