Sparco Indy Sonoma ESD S1PS SR LG - Breathable safety shoe
Sparco Sonoma safety shoes are ideal for prolonged use thanks to their high breathability. They are in fact made of ultra-breathable perforated mesh , suede leather and microfibre reinforcements . This Indy Texas safety shoe is particularly suitable for indoor use and is perfectly suited for working comfortably in a wide range of industries.
Features of these Sparco work shoes include the FlexGrip+ dual-density polyurethane outsole and the Ladder Grip heel compliant for use on ladders. Supplied with a second pair of colored laces included.
These Sparco Sonoma 07539GSVF protective shoes from the Indy line fully comply with the EN ISO 20345:2022 standard and are characterized by the degrees of protection:
- S1PS which indicates the presence of the antistatic sole with energy absorption in the heel area and Metal Free anti-perforation plate for 3 mm nails (Small);
- SR which represents the slip resistance with ceramic and glycerin floor;
- LG which indicates the sole with the heel detached from the sole to hold onto the rungs of the ladder;
- ESD for resistance to electrical discharges.
Sparco footwear uses Teamwork® technology which optimizes the walking effort produced by the sole of the foot, where the greatest stress is concentrated, returning 70% of the energy produced . Thanks to this technology, Sparco Teamwork safety shoes reduce the tiredness felt at the end of the day, thus improving reflexes and attention to the dangers associated with slipping and tripping. Furthermore, they allow less walking effort and less stress on the back and spine together with the relaxation of the muscles .
FLEXIGRIP+ sole
The FlexiGrip+ Sole of these Sparco Indy Line Safety Shoes is made up of an injected Bi-Density Polyurethane sole with a special heel that complies with the requirements for ladders (ladder grip - LG).

Guide to the correct interpretation of protection classes and standards
* highlighted it is possible to identify the characteristics that distinguish the shoes in question Sparco Indy Texas ESD S1PS SR LG.
All safety shoes for professional use compliant with EN ISO 20345:2022 are characterized by the following words:
- S : Safety Shoes (from the English word Safety)
- B : when the letter S follows, it indicates Basic protection. These Mandatory Basic Requirements include the minimum indications to be respected regarding:
- the height of the "split" leather upper which can also be opened in the heel area
- the minimum length and supporting base of the tip
- similar microfibre
- front lining
- insole
- sole that can be made of any type of material.
- P: Protection shoes with protective toe cap (from the English word Protection) safe against impacts with energy of 100 J and compression 10 kN
As regards foot protection, footwear classified as "S" is further divided into:
- SB : is the basic protection level, less protective than the other levels and is equipped with a 200 Joule steel toe cap to protect the fingers, meeting the main safety requirements of the EN 345 standard.
- S1 : S1 level shoes, in addition to the steel toe, also have an antistatic sole with energy absorption in the heel area. The shoes falling into this category are suitable for workers who are not particularly at risk and do not foresee risks for the sole of the foot as this area does not have an anti-puncture plate. They are divided into:
S1: They do not have anti-puncture plate
S1P: They have anti-perforation steel plate
S1PL: They have Metal Free anti-perforation plate for 4.5 mm nails (Large)
S1PS: They have Metal Free anti-perforation foil for 3 mm nails (Small) - S2 : this level, in addition to the characteristics of the S1, also has a slight waterproofness given by a leather upper (or similar materials) capable of resisting water permeability for max. 60 minutes.
Main features integrated into the basic requirements :
- Dynamic waterproofing of the upper material - S3 : this is the most widespread level and combines the characteristics of the S1 and S2 levels (steel toe cap and waterproofness) in a single shoe, however adding the anti-puncture midsole and is divided into:
S3: They have anti-perforation steel plate
S3L: They have Metal Free anti-perforation plate for 4.5 mm nails (Large)
S3S: They have Metal Free anti-perforation plate for 3 mm nails (Small) - S4 : this is the most waterproof level ever, with a 100% waterproof level in all external conditions and for an unlimited time (WRU).
Main features integrated into the basic requirements :
- Antistatic
- Energy absorption from the heel
- FO resistance to hydrocarbons - S5 : is the version of S4 with the addition of the anti-perforation plate
They are divided into:
S5: They have anti-perforation steel plate
S5L: They have Metal Free anti-perforation plate for 4.5 mm nails (Large)
S5S: They have Metal Free anti-perforation plate for 3 mm nails (Small) - S6 : EXTRA water resistance (WR) and are divided into:
S6: They do not have anti-puncture plate
S6P: They have anti-perforation steel plate
S6L: They have Metal Free anti-perforation plate for 4.5 mm nails (Large)
S6S: They have Metal Free anti-perforation plate for 3 mm nails (Small) - S7 : S6 + anti-perforation plate. They are divided into:
S7: They have anti-perforation steel plate
S7L: They have Metal Free anti-perforation plate for 4.5 mm nails (Large)
S7S: They have Metal Free anti-perforation plate for 3 mm nails (Small)
Slip resistance classes
Also regarding the anti-slip level of work shoes we have three different classes all complying with the EN 13287 (2012) standard:
- SRA : slip resistance with ceramic floor with water and detergent
- SRB: slip resistance with steel and glycerine floor
- SRC: slip resistance with both of the above conditions
Shoe classification based on risk assessment
The potential risks prevented by safety shoes are also characterized by acronyms that identify which risk protection is ensured from :
P: Puncture resistant foil
E: Energy absorption from the heel
WR : Water Resistance (it is the improvement of the WRU)
WRU/WPA: Upper resistant to water penetration from 2023
AN: Ankle protection
M: Metatarsal Protection
HRO: Sole resistant to contact with heat 300°C for 1 minute
HI: Heat insulation up to 150°C
CI : Cold insulation down to -17°C
FO: Hydrocarbon resistant sole
ESD: Protection from electrical discharges
A: Electrostatic shoe
C: Conductive shoe (electricity)
CR: Cut Resistance
SRA: Slip resistance with ceramic floor with water and detergent
SRB: Slip resistance with steel and glycerine floor
SRC: Combination of SRA + SRB
DGUV112-191: Orthopedic insole adaptation
SC: Tip abrasion resistance
LG: Sole with heel detached from the sole for grip on ladder rungs
