Sparco Practice Nigel - Safety Shoes S1P SRC Protection
Original Sparco safety shoes from the Practice line , Nigel S1P SRC model, ideal for indoor use in the spring / summer seasons.
These Sparco Nigel S1P SRC protective shoes fully comply with the EN ISO 20345:2011 standard and are characterized by an S1 protection degree, which guarantees protection in the 200 Joule toe thanks to the steel toe cap and have an antistatic sole with energy absorption in the heel area. Furthermore, as the P name indicates, these Sparco safety shoes are equipped with an anti-perforation blade with a zero-perforation textile fiber insole.
Sparco shoes use Teamwork® technology which optimizes the walking effort produced by the sole of the foot, where the greatest stresses are concentrated, returning 70% of the energy produced . Thanks to this technology, Sparco Teamwork safety shoes reduce the tiredness perceived at the end of the day, thus improving reflexes and attention to the dangers associated with slipping and stumbling. Furthermore, they allow for less walking effort and less stress on the back and spine together with relaxation of the muscles .
This original Sparco protective shoe is made up of breathable micro-perforated 3D fabric and scratch-resistant microfibre with a sporty running-style design . It is an ideal safety shoe for indoor use.
The different geometric sections of the tread offer a modular support surface that guarantees high comfort and maximum grip in all conditions, while the special grooves in the heel are designed to facilitate the rapid outflow of any liquids. Sparco Practice Nigel S1P SRC is an anti-shock shoe with energy absorption in the heel area and complete antistatic protection according to the reference standard.
The sole of Sparco Nigel S1P SRC is of the RUNFLEX type, a sole specifically designed for intensive use where there are frequent bending of the foot. The lamellar profiles allow greater resistance to slipping by increasing the grip, while the engraved profiles for a better grip on the stairs .

Guide to the correct interpretation of protection classes and standards
* highlighted it is possible to identify the characteristics that distinguish the footwear in question Sparco Practice Nigel S1P SRC
All safety shoes for professional use in accordance with EN ISO 20345:2011 are identified by the following wordings:
- S : Safety Shoes (from the English word Safety)
- B : when followed by the letter S indicates Basic protection. These Mandatory Basic Requirements include the minimum indications to be respected regarding:
- the height of the "split" leather upper which can also be opened in the heel area
- the minimum length and bearing base of the tip
- esimilar microfiber
- front lining
- insole
- sole that can be in any type of material.
- P: Protective shoes with protective toe cap (from the English word Protection) safe against impacts with 100 J energy and 10 kN compression
As far as foot protection is concerned, footwear classified as "S" is in turn divided into:
- SB : it is the basic level of protection that is less protective than the other levels and is equipped with a 200 Joule steel toe cap for finger protection, meeting the main safety requirements of the EN 345 standard.
- S1 : S1 level shoes, in addition to the steel toe, also have an antistatic sole with energy absorption in the heel area. The shoes falling into this category are suitable for workers who are not particularly at risk and who do not foresee risks for the sole of the foot as this area does not have an anti-puncture plate. If you want to buy a shoe of this level but with an anti-puncture midsole, then you can choose the S1P version.
Main features :
- closed back (even in flat shoes)
- Antistatic
- FO: resistance to hydrocarbons of the sole
- Energy absorption capacity of the heel - S2 : this level, in addition to the characteristics of the S1, also has a slight impermeability given by an upper in leather (or similar materials) able to resist the permeability of water for max. 60 minutes.
Main features integrated with the basic requirements :
- Dynamic waterproofing of the upper material - S3 : this is the most widespread level and combines the characteristics of the S1 and S2 levels (steel toe cap and waterproofing) in a single shoe, however adding the anti-puncture midsole (steel, fabric or kevlar) to protect the sole of the foot.
Main features integrated with the basic requirements :
- Anti-puncture plate
- Sole with studs or tread pattern - S4 : This is the most waterproof level ever, with 100% waterproof level in any outdoor condition and for unlimited time.
Main features integrated with the basic requirements :
- Antistatic
- Energy absorption from the heel
- FO resistance to hydrocarbons - S5 : is the version of S4 with the addition of the anti-perforation plate
Main features integrated to the basic requirements:
- Anti-puncture plate
- Sole with lugs or tread pattern
Slip resistance classes
Also with regard to the level of non-slip work shoes we have three different classes, all complying with the EN 13287 (2012) standard:
- SRA : slip resistance with ceramic floor with water and detergent
- SRB: slip resistance with steel and glycerine floor
- SRC: Slip resistance with both of the above conditions
Shoe classification based on risk assessment
Even the potential risks prevented by safety shoes are characterized by acronyms that identify which risk the protection is guaranteed from :
E = Heel impact shock
A = Electrostatic discharges
WRU = Upper resistant to water absorption and penetration
WR = Footwear as a whole resistant to water absorption and penetration
P = Perforation
FO = Hydrocarbons
I = Electrically isolated
CI = Cold
HI = High temperatures
C = Electrical conductivity
M = Metatarsus protected
AN = Ankle protected
CR = Cut
HRO = Heat by contact
ESD: Resistance to Electric Shocks
