The Intelblast IBL3000 cryogenic sandblaster was developed in close collaboration with customers who have had specific needs in many dry ice challenges. Size and simplicity combined with knowledge, strength and durability make the Intelblast IBL3000 a quality cryogenic sandblaster.
It is not always necessary to have the maximum cleaning power / speed. One of the most obvious benefits of dry ice is that it can also clean electronic components and sensitive surfaces without damage.
However, to obtain a faster cleaning on delicate surfaces where it is not essential not to cause damage, eg. steel surfaces, then these factors must be maximized.
Air pressure
The sandblaster and hoses are built for pressures up to 16 bar. Higher pressures allow the removal of deposits that have a greater adherence to the surface.
Volume of air
The IBL3000 has a real flow of 1 inch along the entire path of the machine, which allows to reach 15 m3 / min. More air means faster cleaning. However, if you have the option to work with lower airflow, you save not only in diesel / electricity consumption but also in investing in larger and more expensive compressors.
Long nozzles
In order to generate the maximum air velocity inside high performance nozzles, the air and dry ice must accelerate at a predetermined angle of 3-5 degrees. Several calculations and tests have shown that a nozzle 600-700 mm long gives the best results. A nozzle of this length must be as light as possible and must be easy to handle by the operator while offering maximum jet power. The geometries of this nozzle widen at the orifice, which for most nozzles would be of the order of 30-40 mm in width. All other configurations are a compromise to combine faster cleaning with an aggressive one.
Wide nozzles
The selection of larger nozzles offers a much gentler cleaning and at the same time allows you to clean a larger area. An 80-90 mm orifice guarantees a discreet cleaning effect.
Short nozzles
In situations where accessibility to the area to be cleaned is awkward or difficult to reach, a shorter nozzle is the only solution.
Chop dry ice
For gentle cleaning, you can use a food processor to split the dry ice into smaller particles. The principle is that dry ice will pass through a mesh plate. The mesh plates are equipped with holes of different sizes to alter the size of the "chopped" pellet, offering different levels of impact force based on weight and cleaning aggressiveness.
Curved nozzles
Cleaning machinery with small openings sometimes requires the use of a curved nozzle. The 45 degree nozzle makes it easy to access and clean in confined spaces. Curved nozzles can be found both short and long.
